 Michaele Simmering is American. She received her BA from Brown University and her MFA at CalArts. Johannes Pauwen is German and of Tunisian Bedouin descent. Johann received his BFA from RISD and his Masters in Product Design from the Fachhochschule Potsdam. Johann & Michaele are a husband/wife team working out of Los Angeles, CA and Berlin, Germany. The project they are most proud of is their daughter Io Zara Pauwen for whom they both designed and named their children’s collection ‘IoLine.’ Kalon Studios was inspired in Berlin and realized in Los Angeles. |
